Photos from the Monterey Bay Aquarium from January 1st 2013

A small fish stays close to his hiding spot
A sturgeon swims close to the acrylic window.  Ancient fish unchanged for millenia...
A jellyfish gracefully drifts downward behind the window.
Outside the aquarium is absolutely gorgeous.
A Sea Nettle begins its rise in the water.
This small jellyfish is nearly invisible when not illuminated by light.
The largest tank at the aquarium was home to two sea turtles, two hammer heads, a variety of other fish, and a school of about 17,000 Anchovies!
A spotted eel and a striped eel interact.
A variety of tropical fish including a lone clown fish down near the bottom right.
This Flounder is nearly invisible having buried himself under the sand.  Sometimes i wish i could be invisible..  lol!

The New Year Two Thousand and 13...

Still getting used to this new blog thing..  But i feel this will be a good year.  I've never been afraid of the number 13 and I've had friends that would avoid the number entirely or do special things to get around the bad luck especially associated with that date on a friday..  well, i took the only choice i could when faced with all the myths that surrounded 13.  I made it my lucky number and i've not been let down yet.

So, now we're faced with an entire year of 13 and i'm feeling pretty good about it. My girlfriend and i rang in the new year with a road trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, from Los Angeles on the 1st day of 2013 and it was amazing.  The only thing that could have been improved was the temperature, but it was gorgeous both along the road and inside the aquarium and assorted shops.

For one I just started this blog as a place to post my illustrations, pictures and designs.  I hope it will be received well and if you don't like what you see or read, let me know what you would like to see and i might just follow your advice.  And there is always the choice of not visiting again..  but that's like a last resort i think.  I'll be posting more stuff in the coming weeks too.  Especially some of the pictures from the aquarium.

I was working on this earlier this summer before i had to undergo some serious surgery which took me out of college for a semester.  Starting back up in January with a new push to do my best and learn everything i can.  This is my first post on my very first blog. but i'm going to try to get my portfolio up at a later date.
