Photos from the Monterey Bay Aquarium from January 1st 2013

A small fish stays close to his hiding spot
A sturgeon swims close to the acrylic window.  Ancient fish unchanged for millenia...
A jellyfish gracefully drifts downward behind the window.
Outside the aquarium is absolutely gorgeous.
A Sea Nettle begins its rise in the water.
This small jellyfish is nearly invisible when not illuminated by light.
The largest tank at the aquarium was home to two sea turtles, two hammer heads, a variety of other fish, and a school of about 17,000 Anchovies!
A spotted eel and a striped eel interact.
A variety of tropical fish including a lone clown fish down near the bottom right.
This Flounder is nearly invisible having buried himself under the sand.  Sometimes i wish i could be invisible..  lol!
